"I sometimes work in series with a similar theme throughout a body of work. This process allows me to explore my use of texture, pattern, and color while addressing a chosen topic in a progressively deeper exploration. My Hidden Book Series is an example of this style of working. Here, the key word is “hidden." I often write in a personal journal. By suggesting the cover of a locked book somewhat hidden in the overall work of art, I am concealing what is written within. The overall imagery creates curiosity in the viewer, hopefully holding the viewer’s attention while they explore the meaning of my work.”
